The Anglo-Saxon Seminar: Beowulf
Christina Von Nolcken, University of Chicago
The seminar is intended for participants who have already completed at least one course in Old English; its aim is to help them read Beowulf and familiarize them with some of the scholarly discussion that has accumulated around the poem. Participants will define the topics of their final research papers early in the seminar, by reading as widely as possible in journals and books.
Participants: Patrick Billingsley, University of Chicago; Summer Block, University of Chicago; Suzanne Edwards, University of Chicago; Lisa Gay, University of Chicago; Anne Perry, University of Chicago; Andrew Rabin, University of Chicago; Josh Tyra, University of Chicago; John Zedolik, Loyola University Chicago
