“If music be the food of love, play on.”

Replete with music, mistaken identity, lovers, and clowns, The Shakespeare Project offers playgoers of all ages one of The Bard’s most heart-warming comedies in the midst of Chicago’s cruel winter. Jeff Christian, director of rollicking productions of The Taming of the Shrew, As You Like It and The Comedy of Errors, directs an all-Equity cast of Shakespeare Project favorites.

A staged reading by professional actors from The Shakespeare Project of Chicago. An informative talk begins fifteen minutes before the performance, which is followed by a question-and-answer session with the director and cast. The Shakespeare Project was founded in 1996 and has performed at the Newberry Library since 2003.

This program is free and open to the public; no tickets or advanced registration is required.

Cosponsored by the Newberry Library Public Programs department.
