10 am - 5 pm sessions at the Newberry; then 6 pm keynote address at the Instituto Cervantes.

Daytime sessions in Towner Fellows Lounge, The Newberry Library, and keynote address at the Instituto Cervantes of Chicago, 31 West Ohio Street

Meeting annually from 2001 to 2010, the Cervantes Symposium has provided leading scholars from throughout the United States a forum to share and discuss emerging research in the field.

Beginning in 2012, the symposium meets at the Newberry Library during even-numbered years and at the Instituto Cervantes during odd-numbered years.

9:30 am Continental breakfast and welcome

10 am Session 1

11:15 am Session 2

1:15 Lunch break

2:45 pm Session 3

4:15 pm Wine reception

Please note that the Newberry Library closes at 5 pm on Fridays and the building must be vacated at that time.

6 pm Keynote Address

at the Instituto Cervantes, 31 West Ohio Street (at Dearborn)

Faculty and graduate students of Center for Renaissance Studies consortium institutions may be eligible to apply for travel funds to attend CRS programs or to do research at the Newberry Library. Each member university sets its own policies and deadlines; contact your Representative Council member in advance for details.
