The Newberry has one of the strongest genealogy research collections in the nation. If you have considered tracing your family’s history in America, this one-session course will show you where to begin. Learn about genealogical relationships, traditional family trees and charts, ancestral software, and accredited research methods for finding information in home and public sources.

Marsha Peterson-Maass is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and has taught numerous seminars at the Newberry.

Instructor will provide handout with extensive agenda, outline, and several pages from the Fundamentals of Genealogy: Basics for Everyone textbook. Participants may also purchase a copy for $20.
