Seminar Description

This six-week workshop is for writers of all levels who are interested in getting started with short fiction. We’ll look at literary short stories to understand how they start, progress, and finish. We’ll discuss how “real life” can fuel fiction and how to let your imagination roam, using writing prompts for inspiration. In the last two weeks, we will discuss participant work in a supportive environment and deepen our understanding of craft.

Six sessions. Registration – $210

Linda Downing Miller has led creative writing classes in Chicago since 2015 and received an MFA from Queens University of Charlotte. Her short stories have appeared in Chicago Quarterly Review, Water-Stone Review, The Florida Review, Crab Orchard Review, and elsewhere.
