Due to a staff event, there will bo no colloquium Wednesday, February 12.
Construction on Walton Street
From now until the end of March, the city will be installing a water main underneath Walton Street between Clark and Dearborn streets. Walton’s north traffic lane will be closed, but the sidewalk and library entrance should remain accessible.
Class visit calendar is now full for the spring semester
Our class visit calendar is now full for the spring semester (January-May 2014). Group visits to the Civil War exhibit are still available, call (312) 255-3700 to schedule a tour.
The Newberry will be entirely closed Tuesday through Thursday, December 24 through December 26; and Wednesday, January 1. The library will close at 5:15 pm Tuesday, December 31.

The Newberry Bookstore will remain open the Friday and Saturday following Thanksgiving and offer an additional 10 percent off all items. The shop will be closed Thanksgiving Day.
