Mark your calendars for another great genealogy-filled Saturday. The monthly Local and Family History Orientation will kick off the day at 9:30 am. Follow the orientation with some research until 1 pm and a quick lunch at one of the many local spots (ask at the reference desk if you need suggestions).
Be back at the Newberry for the 1:30 pm Chicago Genealogical Society meeting where Matt Rutherford, Newberry Curator of Local and Family History, will be speaking on the “History of the Census.” Matt will share a historcial perspective of the census and discuss what it was used for at the time, what it can be used for now and where it can be found. Join us for an enjoyable day. And both events are free!
