The Chicago History Project (CHP) is a partnership between the Chicago Public Schools and the Chicago Historical Society, Constitutional Rights Foundation Chicago, Chicago Metro History Education Center, the Newberry Library, and the University of Illinois at Chicago to provide professional development for CPS teachers of American History working in grades 7-12.

Funded through a U.S. Department of Education Teaching American History Grant, CHP is designed to further develop teachers as historians who share their knowledge and enthusiasm with their students and fellow colleagues. Participants will take part in a year-long series of professional development programs with a primary focus on history content.
