Fees
Photocopy orders require payment in advance. Estimates are sent to the requesting library by U.S. mail. After payment is received along with a signed copy of the estimate, Newberry staff members will make and send the copies. Depending on the nature of the request, additional paperwork may be required. Photocopies of up to 20 pages of non-genealogical materials are free to Illinois libraries.

Restrictions
In the interest of preservation, no more than 50 single pages per volume will be photocopied. Microfilm and copyflo may be suitable alternatives for those requests that involve more than 50 pages. The Library will reproduce copyrighted material only within the principle of "fair use," and the patron shall assume all responsibility in questions regarding copyright of Library materials. The Newberry Library reserves the right to refuse any photoduplication request.

Genealogical Services
Genealogical photocopy requests are charged at the standard rates; please see our photoduplication fees. Genealogical search services (including city directory searches, census searches, obituary searches, etc.) and fees are described on the Newberry Library's Local and Family History services page.
