As of December 13, 2017, FamilySearch requires users to sign in in order to use its digital content. Users will be prompted to sign in from anywhere they access FamilySearch.org, including at the Newberry Library.
Therefore, Newberry readers will need to have their own FamilySearch accounts in order to access FamilySearch content while at the Newberry.
FamilySearch user accounts are free and do NOT require any credit card or payment information.
While the Newberry does not control FamilySearch or its policies, Newberry librarians will be glad to assist you in setting up an account if you do not already have one of your own.
