Congratulations to Scott Holl! Scott was just honored as the winner of the William Filby Award for Genealogical Librarianship at the National Genealogy Society Conference. The Filby Award is given to a person who has made significant contributions to the field of genealogy or local history. Scott is currently the St. Louis County Library’s manager of History and Genealogy, but he is also a former “Newberrian”.
Scott held the position of Local and Family History Assistant at the Newberry from August of 2002 until October of 2003. Although his time here was short, his significant contributions included the creation of the “Guide to Chicago Church and Synagogue Records.”
The St. Louis County Library has put out a press release detailing Scott’s accomplishments.
