Upcoming genealogy events, new resources, research tips, and other information from Newberry Reference and Genealogy Services.
As of December 13, 2017, FamilySearch.org users will be prompted to either sign-in or to create an account for their website. Using this sign-in, FamilySearch.org patrons will have access to any digitized content at all. While this is something that the Newberry does not have control of, we do see that there are positive results for users with this new system. This change should help clear up confusions about who is allowed to access which digital content and provide access to other FamilySearch.org features such as Family Tree, Memories and digital books.
Each user of the website is required to have their own account but as always Newberry librarians will be glad to assist you in setting up an account if you do not already have one of your own. FamilySearch.org does NOT require any credit card or payment information, nor do they share any personal account information. There is more information about the reasons for the change available here.
Newberry Library is a long term affiliate of the FamilySearch.org and we would like to continue to provide the most services available to our Readers. Please consider signing up for your account if you do not already have such an account.
