For a $7 fee the Newberry's Local and Family History staff will provide a reader-printer copy from the Ordnance Townland Survey of Ireland (Dublin, 1831-1842). This set of maps is the most detailed for any European country in the nineteenth century. The scale is six inches to the mile.
We must have an exact citation to provide this service. An exact citation includes townland, county, and sheet number. You can obtain the sheet number from General alphabetical index to the townlands and towns, parishes, and baronies of Ireland. Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Co., 1984 (reprint Dublin, 1861). If your local library does not have this book, you can inquire about obtaining it through interlibrary loan from a lending library.
