Dear Prospective Volunteer

Thank you so much for your interest in the Newberry Library's Volunteer Program. We make a careful effort to place you in a spot that you will find interesting and that will suit the type of work you want to do. We often have many requests from departments for volunteer help; other times the needs are all full, so it may take some time for the perfect job for you! Our annual Book Fair requires a lot of volunteer effort and is a great deal of fun, especially if you like to meet new people and enjoy shopping for books. Many of our regular Library staff volunteers pitch in together for this major annual event. Last year 180 volunteers worked in all areas of the Fair! The Newberry Library Volunteer Program numbers 500 at the present. We have volunteer help in all areas of the Library. Our goal is to place our volunteers in a task they enjoy and to meet the needs of the various departments. Please contact the Office of Volunteers, Karen Skubish, Director of Volunteers, and Karen Aubrey, Associate Director of Volunteers at (312) 255-3595, or by e-mail.

Sincerely,
Karen Skubish
Director of Volunteers
