Illinois Adoptees Entitled to More Family History

Earlier this summer, Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn signed legislation giving adoptees more access to their family history information. Expanding on the 2010 Illinois Birth Certificate Access Law, which gave adopted adults, and spouses and children of deceased adopted adults, access to their original birth certificates, this legislation allows even grandchildren of adoptees access to original birth records. It also enables searches across multiple counties when records cannot immediately be found.

My second husband adopted my daughter I believe in 1957 his name was William Maske her birth name was Donna Francine Ciskowski she is looking for a record of the adoption for her family files. I have misplaced mine. Where can I find this information for her. Thank you.
@Joyce - You may want to start by contacting the court where the adoption took place. If the adoption took place in Cook County, try contacting the Cook County Circuit Court Archives. http://www.cookcountyclerkofcourt.org
