We’ve just received word that FamilySearch is increasing the prices of film loans in the U.S. and Canada on February 15, 2012. The organization says it is due to higher costs of raw microfilm stock and higher costs of shipping.
The new prices will be:
- Short-term film loan $7.50 (formerly $5.50)
- Short-term film loan extension $7.50 (formerly $5.50)
- Extended film loan $18.75 (formerly $13.75)
The price of a microfiche loan remains the same: $4.75. If you are thinking about putting films on extended (permanent) loan, now is the time to do so and save $5 per reel.
As a reminder, films are no longer ordered through the Newberry. Films should be ordered via your individual account at: https://familysearch.org/films/. For more information about the online ordering process, see: http://www.newberry.org/online-lds-film-ordering-begins-newberry
We apologize for the late notice. Please do not hesitate to contact us at 312-255-3512 or at email@example.com with any questions.
