American Indian Center of Chicago

The AIC provides a variety of community and social services for the multi-tribal American Indian population in the City of Chicago. It is the longest-running urban Indian organization in the country.


American Indian Graduate Center

The AIG provides educational opportunities to encourage Native American and Alaska Native students to make critical connections with Indian communities, tribal leaders, and Indian organizations to ensure their greater involvement to help rebuild strong, healthy, self-reliant American Indian and Native Alaska communities. The AIGC is committed to help pave the road back home for "Indians helping Indians."


American Society for Ethnohistory

The American Society for Ethnohistory is a preeminent ethnohistorical society promoting the interdisciplinary investigation of the histories of the Native Peoples of the Americas.

The Mitchell Museum of American Indian
The Mitchell Museum of the American Indian, the only museum in the Chicago-area that focuses exclusively on the history, culture and arts of North American native peoples.
The Museum's collections range from the Paleo-Indian period through the present day. Permanent exhibitions depict the Native American cultures of the Woodlands, Plains, Southwest, Northwest Coast and Arctic.

National Museum of the American Indian

The first national museum dedicated to the preservation, study, and exhibition of the life, languages, literature, history, and arts of Native Americans.

NativeWeb is an international, nonprofit, educational organization dedicated to using telecommunications including computer technology and the Internet to disseminate information from and about indigenous nations, peoples, and organizations around the world.


Western History Association

The Western History Association is a hisorical association which exists to promote the study of the North American West in all its varied aspects and in its broadest sense.


UCLA American Indian Studies Center

The American Indian Studies Center is an Organized Research Unit (ORU), and as such, its mission is to promote research, education, and community service within an academic framework. The Center acts as a focal point for faculty, pre and post doctoral fellows, and students to conduct research on issues about Native Americans.
