This fall, the Newberry is offering more than 40 classes on Chicago; arts, music, and language; history, genealogy, and social sciences; literature and theater; and more. Learn about Chicago political art or bookbinding, delve into Jane Austen’s writing during the 200th anniversary of Pride and Prejudice, or experience the music of the Civil War during its sesquicentennial.
To improve our service to participants and instructors we are instituting a registration deadline. The registration deadline for fall classes is September 6; registration opens July 30. Classes begin September 17 on a rolling basis. Classes with fewer than the minimum seven registrants will be canceled after September 6. Some late registrations will be accepted with a $20 late registration fee.
