The 2002 Summer Institute will be directed by Consuelo Varela, Escuela de Estudios Hispano-Americanos de Sevilla. The Institute will provide intensive training in the reading and editing of Spanish and Hispanic-American manuscript books and documents from the fourteenth century to the sixteenth century. It will also offer an orientation to the archives, libraries, and manuscript collections available for work in Spanish and Hispanic-American Studies. The course will be conducted in Spanish.

About the Instructor

CONSUELO VARELA, Senior Researcher, Escuela de Estudios Hispano-Americanos de Sevilla, is the editor of the complete works of Christopher Columbus.
