The following is a list of area hotels and apartment buildings. Some have special rates for the Newberry Library. You must identify yourself as a participant in a Newberry event at the time of your reservation to receive these rates. Rates are subject to change as availability fluctuates. We recommend reserving your room well in advance to assure availability at these rates. Consortium members who seek to have housing expenses reimbursed must contact the executive committee representative from their institution before traveling to Chicago.
While we have negotiated lower rates with most of the hotels on this list, we recommend that you also check discount Web hotel brokers like expedia.com, orbitz.com, and travelocity.com. Their discounts will be greater in many cases than our negotiated rates, though availability may be limited.
NOTE: This is not a list of hotels approved by the Center for Renaissance Studies, and the rates listed below are subject to change. The quoted rates do not include room taxes of 15.4%. If you have any questions or problems, please contact the Center at 312.255.3514, or at renaissance@newberry.org.
