Daniel Greene, Director of the William M. Scholl Center for American History and Culture

Daniel Greene is Director of the Dr. William M. Scholl Center for American History and Culture at the Newberry Library in Chicago. Greene is a U.S. historian who specializes in ethnicity, pluralism, and American identity. Before coming to the Newberry, he was a historian and curator at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC. He has taught history, museum studies, and Jewish studies courses at the University of Chicago, Northwestern University, the University of Miami, and Indiana University Northwest. His book, The Menorah Association and the Origins of Cultural Pluralism, is forthcoming from Indiana University Press. Greene earned his PhD in history at the University of Chicago.
