Access to the Reading Rooms/Collections
A Newberry Library reader's card admits person age 16 and older (or a junior in high school) to the reading rooms to use the collections. You must come to the Library to register for a card; a photo ID, proof of current address (driver's license, bill, etc.), and a research topic that can be supported by the collections are required to obtain a reader's card. The attendant at the security kiosk on the first floor will ask to see your photo ID and then will provide you with a registration form and direct you to the Reference and Bibliographical Center on the third floor to complete the process.
