Two Years and Still No Pulitzer

It is the second anniversary of the first Book Fair blog, back before our first 25th Book Fair. Where DOES the time go? In celebration, I have written a song in my own honor. (I tell you, I have to do all the work around here.)

Anyone out there too young to recall there is a version of “Joy to the World” beyond the one usually sung at Christmas should ask Grandma to get out the Victrola and play Edison Diamond Cylinder 3DN to get the tune.

Uncle Blogsy was a blogger:
He was a good friend of mine;
I never understood a single word he wrote
But I like to hear him whine,
Yes, he always made a mighty fine whine.

Singin’ Books in the hall!
Books along the wall!
Good books from ABC to XYZ:
Books for you and me!

If he was the King of the World
To go by the way he talks
Some folks who make donations would be piled up for cremations
Into one banana box:
Yes, that is one big banana box.

Singin’ Books in the hall!
Books along the wall!
Good books from ABC to XYZ;
Books for you and me!

Yeah, we know all his Ya-Ya Secrets
And every Life he took;
He’s a DaVinci decoder and an LP unloader
He’s a straight-shootin’ son of a book
I said a straight-shootin’ son of a book

Now sing it: Books in the hall!
Books along the wall!
Good books from ABC to XYZ!
Books for you and me!
