This seminar provides an overview of the contributions of U.S. Latinx authors and artists of the 20th-21st centuries (with an emphasis on the output of the Nuevo Latinx Boom). In doing so, we will examine the literary, socio-historical, and cultural development of Latinx and explore the similarities and distinctions among the experiences and imaginations of multiple Latinx groups: Puerto Ricans, Nuyoricans, Mexican Americans, Chicanx, Cuban Americans, as well as other representations from the Caribbean and Central and South America.
