Seminar Description

This virtual walking tour will explore how history is remembered in the cultural landscape of Chicago. From monuments and murals to historic buildings and the lakefront, the seminar will interrogate how the city remembers certain events and people, and how other histories are actively silenced. The seminar will take advantage of technology to travel the city, compare past and present cityscapes, and draw connections across place and time.

Four sessions. Registration – $170

Rachel Boyle, PhD, is a historian, consultant, and co-founder of Omnia History, a public history collaborative dedicated to using the past to promote social change.
