Seminar Description

Overseas documents are becoming easier to find, but what if you don’t speak the language? This presentation will give you many tips and tricks on deciphering documents in most European languages and includes ideas that help in reading old German script. There will also be tips on transcribing and translating your documents with helpful websites and resources.

One session. Registration – $50/$45

Researching her ancestors since 1996, Jacquie Schattner has volunteered for 15 years at her local Family History Center, is active in several genealogy societies, and teaches genealogy at high schools and libraries. She has published three books on family history and holds a B.S. from University of Illinois. Jacquie is a retired school secretary.
