Newberry Adult Education Seminars will meet both virtually and in the building for the Winter/Spring term. Although we are still primarily virtual, you will find a smaller selection of in-person seminars in the schedule. For more information about the Newberry’s virtual seminars, including a Zoom tutorial, please see our Virtual Seminars FAQ page. If you have questions about online learning, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org. Registration opens Wednesday, January 19th at 9am (Central time). Registration will take place through our online platform, Learning Stream.
A personal journal can be many things, from a confessional and a historic record to an experimental space for testing out new ideas and new ways of writing. Perhaps most importantly, a journal can provide a place for privacy and reflection in an increasingly chaotic world. This seminar will provide exercises and inspiration for those interested in developing and maintaining a creative journaling habit. In addition to discussing the process of journaling, we will also read and discuss the writings of famous diarists like Samuel Pepys, David Sedaris, and Virginia Woolf.
Six sessions. Registration – $210/$189
