Support the Annual Fund

This early eighteenth-century map, made by Nicolas de Fer, reflects the results of French explorations in the western Great Lakes and the Mississippi watershed from the late seventeenth century on.

Make a gift to the Annual Fund today!

Your gift to the Annual Fund supports the Newberry’s efforts to care for a world-renowned collection and make these items accessible—free of charge—to thousands of genealogists, artists, scholars, educators, students, and other people like you from Chicago and around the globe each year. From the reading rooms and exhibition galleries to our graduate seminars and public programs, the Newberry’s staff, patrons, and friends appreciate your help in making what we do possible.

All donors to the Newberry’s Annual Fund receive our e-newsletter and a subscription to the Adult Education Seminars catalog. Donors of $50 or more become members of the Newberry Associates and receive a variety of benefits that vary by gift level, including invitations to members-only events, a Newberry coffee mug, and more. Annual Fund donors who give $1,500 or more are recognized as President’s Fellows and receive additional benefits, including access to behind-the-scenes tours and the President’s Reception. You can make your gift online to become a member today! We also accept gifts by mail, over the phone, and in person at the Newberry Bookstore or the Development Office.

In addition to one-time cash contributions, you can also support the Newberry’s Annual Fund through:

  • a monthly giving plan
  • a tribute gift made in another’s honor or memory
  • a matching gift through your employer, as applicable
  • a gift of stock or other financial securities
  • a planned gift through your estate

Gifts to the Newberry’s Annual Fund are tax deductible to the extent provided by law. For more information about ways to support the Newberry or to make a gift over the phone, please call Luke Herman, Annual Giving Manager, at (312) 255-3616.
