Seminar Description
The late 19th century artist Édouard Manet neither adhered to the rules and traditions of the French Academy of Fine Arts nor participated in the Impressionist exhibitions. This seminar explores how Manet forged an independent path in the art world through his choice of modern and often ambiguous subjects and his bravura painting techniques. Join us as we examine his impact on modernism by discussing some of his most pivotal and controversial paintings.
One session. E - $80, L - $88
