Seminar Description
Gustave Flaubert said, "I am irritated by my own writing. I am like a violinist whose ear is true, but whose fingers refuse to produce precisely the sound he hears within."
It isn't just amateur writers who struggle with writing and honing their work. Even the world's greatest scribes need to practice their craft and constantly revise, rework and edit their story. So if you are feeling stuck getting your story to the next level, this interactive workshop will help clear the obstacles that often keep us from finishing our work.
We will discuss the structural tools most writers employ to tell a good story, specifically the elements that make up a riveting beginning, middle, and end. We will explore intriguing characters, memorable settings, voice, conflict and pacing to keep your story on point, moving forward, and mesmerizing. We will encourage writers of all levels and genres to share their work in a supportive and lively setting.
Colleen Delegan Sichrovsky has been a practicing writer for over 40 years. She is an award-winning author of screenplays, teleplays, novels and essays and a member of the Writer's Guild of America, West. Currently, she divides her time between North America and Europe.
