Take an unforgettable literary trip to William Faulkner's Yoknapatawpha County. Meet Colonel Sartoris, Quentin Compson, Dilsey Gibson, Dewey Dell Bunden, and dozens of other spectacular characters who dwell there, and explore slavery's role in shaping the South. You will return from this journey with a deeper understanding of the South and an appreciation of Faulkner's skill in bringing his fictional world to life. In this seminar, we will read As I Lay Dying as well as short stories and selections from The Portable Faulkner.
