Seminar Description
Overshadowed by its many other architectural marvels, Chicago’s contributions to Art Nouveau are often forgotten. This seminar puts the city’s Art Nouveau movement in relief. First, we will explore the history and conventions of Art Nouveau in Europe, as well as the emergence and development of the style in Chicago. Then, we’ll hit the streets to experience the city’s Art Nouveau offerings first-hand on a walking tour of the downtown area.
Two sessions. E - $105, L - $115.50
Maurice Champagne is a life-long resident of Chicago with degrees in education and the humanities. He is currently a docent for the Chicago Architecture Foundation.
