The John M. Wing Collection on the History of Printing is one of the most important history of printing collections in the world, holding books and manuscripts ranging from the 15th century to the present day. Such a collection provides unique opportunities and challenges for its curation. Jill Gage will discuss acquisitions from her first year as Custodian of the collection, including: a rare 16th century Swiss writing book; an 1847 prospectus for almanacs printed in Nancy, France; an artist's book made from postcards - and much more.
