Corr-Proust is a new, open-access digital edition of the letters of the French novelist Marcel Proust. A collaboration between the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the Université Grenoble Alpes, and the Institut des textes et manuscrits modernes (Paris), the recently-launched website updates and augments the older paper edition produced by Chicago native Philip Kolb (1907-1992). The University of Illinois owns over 1,200 original Proust letters, more than any other institution worldwide. This talk highlights the history of this unique collection as well as the challenges associated with its diffusion through a state-of-the-art digital edition.
