Dissertation Seminar: Gender, Power, Culture

NULL

This seminar provides an interdisciplinary, supportive community for graduate students in the early stages of dissertation preparation. Gender plays a critical role in understanding, displaying, and experiencing modes of power across a wide range of cultural activities, ca. 1100-1700. We will analyze these from multiple perspectives and theoretical approaches, examining many different sources to develop a range of research strategies. By the end of the seminar each student should have drafted a complete dissertation proposal or chapter.
