In this session, we will tackle the fundamentals of accredited genealogical research and process methodology including research basics, important records repositories, precepts, and establishing standards of proof. We will review genealogical software, online resources for research, and research strategies. One session.
Marsha Peterson-Maass is author of the Fundamentals of Genealogy® textbook series and a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists. She has led numerous genealogy seminars at the Newberry Library since 2002.
There are no required materials for this class. The instructor will make the below recommended textbooks available to use in the classroom whether students choose to purchase them or not.
