Class Description

This three-day writing workshop is specifically designed to help organizations secure funding for mission-driven projects. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how to identify and approach potential funders, craft persuasive proposals, and effectively communicate their nonprofit’s goals and impact. The seminar will cover key topics such as writing clear and powerful case statements, developing measurable outcomes, and creating realistic budgets that align with funder expectations. We will also discuss the current challenges nonprofits face in grant seeking and explore practical strategies to enhance proposals and increase chances of success. Each week, participants will learn about different stages of the grant writing process and will craft specific portions of a grant proposal. By the end of the workshop, each participant will have written a full grant proposal to be utilized for future funding opportunities.

All virtual classes are recorded and made available to participants registered in the class. These recordings are password-protected and available for up to two weeks after the class ends.

A cultural historian and lecturer, Emilie M. Brinkman holds a PhD in European History from Purdue University. With more than a decade of grant writing experience, she currently serves as Senior Director of Grants and Foundation Relations at Cincinnati Museum Center.
