Class Description

Meet the women Hemingway loved and the influences they had on his life and literature.

Read and discuss major Hemingway novels and short stories, view the instructor’s collection of rarely seen photographs, and hear excerpts from Hemingway’s personal letters to parents, wives, lovers, and friends to gain insight into these intimate relationships and the impact they made on his life and work.

Nancy Sindelar is author of Influencing Hemingway, a popular presenter at Hemingway Conferences, and a frequent speaker on cruise ships to Cuba and the Caribbean. Classes are energized by her research into Hemingway's content and style as well as her travels to the locales that were important to the writer.
