This workshop will introduce participants to strategies and approaches for sharing their work with broad audiences. In particular, our conversations will focus on how to productively engage a diverse range of communities as an expert in premodern culture without leaving academia behind. Through a discussion of readings, a critical evaluation of public-facing resources and programs, and a hands-on session with Newberry materials, participants will develop skills for translating one’s research for non-academic publics, targeting different audiences and meeting their needs, and cultivating fruitful collaborations within and outside of academia.
This program will be accessible virtually in the event that long-distance travel or large gatherings are restricted. Please consult www.newberry.org for up-to-date information.
