Introductory Poetry Workshop

If you've ever thought “I don't understand poetry!" then this class is designed for you! We will have the chance to enjoy and discover various poems using the hypothesis that poetry can be a form of “capture.”

Seminar Description

If you've ever thought “I don't understand poetry!" then this class is designed for you! We will have the chance to enjoy and discover various poems using the hypothesis that poetry can be a form of “capture.” Like photography, writing can capture something transient or elusive and convey it to a reader. In addition to reading poems that demonstrate this possibility, we will practice writing our own.

Four sessions. Registration – $120

C. Mitchell holds an MFA in poetry from Boston University and an MA in religion and literature from the University of Chicago, where she currently teaches writing.
