Class Description

In this five-week course, participants will learn how the Hebrew calendar is shaped and constructed, including the flow of the holidays and the cycles of daily and weekly practice. The course highlights how Jewish time is intentionally designed to guide reflection, spiritual growth, and self-understanding, emphasizing the essential relationship between human life and sacred time. Each week focuses on a different temporal cycle, highlighting daily and weekly rhythms, the progression of festivals, and how they create meaningful patterns within the Hebrew calendar, a lunisolar system that aligns lunar months with the solar year. Through text study and discussion, participants will learn how the rhythms of Jewish time cultivate meaning and connection to community and tradition. This class is open to people of all backgrounds and identities, offering a welcoming environment to learn about the structure and significance of Jewish time.

All virtual classes are recorded and made available to participants registered in the class. These recordings are password-protected and available for up to two weeks after the class ends.
