Class Description
The Newberry has a wonderfully rich and diverse collection of materials related to the history of printing and the book. How did this collection come into being? Who was John M. Wing and what was his connection to the Newberry? How was the collection shaped by the "Custodians" over the years? How have scholars, designers and artists used these materials in their works? Take a deep dive into the stories behind the collector, the collection, and the creations it has inspired.
All virtual classes are recorded and made available to participants registered in the class. These recordings are password-protected and available for up to two weeks after the class ends.
Andrea Villasenor, Senior Graphic Designer at the Newberry, began her career as a typesetter and has embraced continual learning and teaching as technology has transformed the field. She has taught at the American Academy of Art, The School of the Art Institute and currently at Northern Illinois University.
