Please note this seminar will be taught in Spanish. This seminar will explore through film the controversies surrounding Latin American immigration in both the late twentieth and twenty-first centuries. We will specifically examine race relations, exile, the war on drugs, push-pull factors and the socio-political backdrop of multiple Latin American countries and the United States; that is, through filmic representation, we will gain a vivid understanding of immigration across the Americas.
