Seminar Description
Leonard Bernstein was one of the most renowned musicians of the twentieth century. This exploration of his career as a conductor, composer, and gifted educator will help light up his life as a vibrant, controversial, and brilliant man of his times. His musical impact is enormous, and his legacy in music composition and in interpretation and performance of classical music continues to be a force for the future. Eight sessions.
Stephen Kleiman holds a BS from The Mannes College of Music and an MM in music composition/conducting from the University of Michigan. He has conducted throughout Europe and the US. His compositions are performed regularly, and he has been teaching at The Newberry since 2008.
