"Minnie Moustache," "Sue's Leg," and "The Pope's Toe" piqued interest last summer as archivists from the Newberry Library discussed their work processing dance collections made possible by a grant from the Gaylord & Dorothy Donnelley Foundation. With the grant project almost finished there are many highlights and discoveries to share, such as artifacts, cute animals, and veterans. Yes, there is a chair owned by America's first prima ballerina, Maria Tallchief, camels that once traipsed the lakefront for a production at the Edgewater Beach Hotel, and dancers who served their country. So, grab your covered mug and twist again with the archivists!
