Focusing on emigration from Europe to the United States between 1850 and 1940, this seminar will explore the major European ports of departure, major American ports of arrival, passenger lists, and ships.

Seminar Description

Discover your ancestors' immigration stories. Focusing on emigration from Europe to the United States between 1850 and 1940, this seminar will explore the major European ports of departure, major American ports of arrival, passenger lists, and ships. Learn where to find helpful resources and digitized records, with additional emphasis on locating and understanding passenger lists.

Two sessions. Registration – $85

Jaymie Middendorf is a public librarian who specializes in genealogy and local history research. She holds a Certificate of Genealogical Research from Boston University and volunteers as the Honors & Awards Chair of the Illinois State Genealogical Society.
