Seminar Description

At the end of his playwriting career, William Shakespeare wrote The Tempest—a play considered by some to be his farewell to the stage. In this seminar, we will read The Tempest and view video performances of the play while discussing its important themes—e.g., the use of power for the common good, the meaning of exile, the nobility of human existence when faced with the forces of nature, the deep pain that arises from betrayal, and the importance of forgiveness.
