The Great Chicago Fire, The Second Presbyterian Church, and a Man Named Thomas Butler Carter

How does a request for a half-hour presentation on the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 evolve into the telling of a story in which the history of the "spotted church," the Great Fire, the Chicago Relief and Aid Society and an early Chicago settler are intertwined? In this colloquium Ginger Frere will share the back-story and the tale that resulted from her research.
