The Importance of Cultural Memory

NULL

Reception 5 to 6 pm; Program 6 to 7 pm

Please join the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Newberry Library for an announcement of new NEH grants to Chicago-area institutions.

The announcement will be followed by a discussion on the importance of cultural memory, with Jon Parrish Peede, Chairman of NEH; David Spadafora, Newberry Library President and Librarian; Charles Bethea, journalist; Lynn Osmond, President of Chicago Architecture Center; and Christopher Woods, Director of the Oriental Institute, University of Chicago.

Your generosity is vital in keeping the library’s programs, exhibitions, and reading rooms free and accessible to everyone. Make a donation today.
