Seminar Description

This seminar examines the artistic legacy of Vivian Maier through close examination of her photographs and their connections to the work of earlier photographers and those of her contemporaries. Explore Maier's strategies, themes, and development by looking at examples of her work from 1950s New York through her Chicago photographs from the following two decades.

One session. Registration – $85

Margaret Farr is an independent art historian with a PhD in art history, specializing in art from 1800 to the present. A former senior lecturer at the Art Institute of Chicago, Margaret has also taught at several colleges and universities.
